‘We Follow Christ's Footsteps in Love'

Our website has been designed to give you an introduction to the life of our happy and successful school, which has been serving the Catholic Parishes of Saint Joseph’s and Saint Erconwald’s since 1969 and we are proud of its long tradition of high quality Catholic education.

We are a Catholic junior school with very strong moral values and a traditional approach to behaviour and discipline; we consider that the schools’ partnership with parents and Governors is indispensable to our continued success. Furthermore, integral to our Mission Statement is the recognition that we value the individuality of each member of our community, to ensure that all of our pupils further develop their relationship with God and each other.

Moreover, we continue to strive for and to encourage the highest standards in academic achievement, social responsibility and personal development within our Catholic environment. We are proud of our current ‘outstanding’ Ofsted status, which we secured in November 2011, together with our continued fantastic sporting awards to date.

The school has been in an extremely successful federation partnership with our feeder infant school, since 2008. The current arrangements have proved to be conducive to supporting and enriching the curriculum opportunities for both the pupils and staff, through the continued sharing of expertise, together with ensuring a continuity of pupils’ learning, particularly for transition purposes.

As the Executive Head Teacher I am ably supported by my colleague, Mr. Betts, Junior Associate Head Teacher. Together we are resolute in our efforts to ensure that our pupils, staff and the communities that we serve, continue to be recognised for our high quality Catholic education, which  promotes pupils to develop their God given talents to the full and the best that they can be.
