Year 6

12 Year 6 pupils went to St Gregory's Science College for the annual Maths Challenge. The children were up against 4 other local Catholic Primary Schools in a series of mathematical problem solving challenges.  This time, we were for not fortunate to win but all the children worked so hard. Our top 2 scoring mathematicians gained a special prize.

Tuesday 10th March, St Vincent De Paul travelled to St Gregory's Catholic Science College to take part in our linked Science sessions. Here the children were taught about animal and plant cells looking at the key parts of these cells and their functions. The using microscopes looked at what the real cells actually looked like after drawing a scientific diagram of them both.

Tuesday 10th March 2020, St Vincent De Paul celebrated their class assembly focusing upon Lent to Easter.  We hope you enjoyed us sharing our knowledge of this special season with you.

Tuesday 10th December 2019, St Faustina travelled to St Gregory's Catholic Science College to take part in our linked Science sessions. Here the children were taught about animal and plant cells looking at the key parts of these cells and their functions. The using microscopes looked at what the real cells actually looked like after drawing a scientific diagram of them both.

Monday 9th December 2019, Year 6 travelled to The Battle of Britain Bunker as part of their History topic on World War 2.   They had a wonderful day exploring the museum and going down into the secret bunkers that were in operation during World War II.  Additionally, they had the opportunity to handle a number of historical artefacts and explore what they were used for during this time.

On Monday 30th September 2019, Year 6 held a reading workshop with the parents/carers. This was to help support the parents in how they can best support there children at home.

If you would like to download the presentation for this workshop, please visit the English workshop section on the website.
